Connected solar panels.

It stops working when the sun goes down. For this example i am showing you connecting panels that are for a 12 volt system. This power inverter converts the solar energy into energy that is consumable at home. There are 3 ways to connect solar panels.

This is important because solar energy is intermittent. Home solar panels and the grid when a homeowner decides to add solar panels to their home in most cases they will choose to be grid connected. When solar panels are wired in parallel the positive terminal from one panel is connected to the positive terminal of another panel and the negative terminals of the two panels are connected together. Just like a typical battery you may be familiar with solar panels have positive and negative terminals.

The first way i am going to talk about is parallel because this is probably the most common way that panels will be connected. Then they are connected to the charge controller or to the inverter of the solar system. Stringing solar panels in series involves connecting each panel to the next in a line as illustrated in the left side of the diagram above. Connect the solar panels either directly to a power inverter and then connect it to the home grid or connect the inverter to the battery and then to the home power grid.
