Conduit always terminates at some type of electrical box or at fixed equipment that also serves as a box. The 10 foot lengths of rmc are threaded on both ends and include a coupling on one end. Where you have to bend the conduit using a conduit bender make gently curved bends that do not close the diameter of the conduit. Special connectors are used to secure conduit to boxes and to join lengths of conduit together to form long straight runs or bends. You can stub out pipes in a concrete slab easily because the stub out is put in place before the final grade for the concrete slab is prepared but you must be very skilled. The boxes connectors and conduit form a wire enclosure system called a raceway.
